Mission Moments

Fostering discipleship

With the support of a coach, provided through gifts to Presbyterians Sharing, Église St- Luc’s leadership team in Montreal is learning ways to evangelize and foster discipleship beyond Sunday mornings. They started with one mid-week Bible sharing group, which quickly grew to three, and now a fourth is in the works. Like Paul and Barnabas in Acts 13, members of Église St-Luc are actively sharing the gospel, and the good news of Christ’s saving power is spreading “like wildfire all through the region” (v.49; The Message).

Presbyterians Sharing engages in evangelism, outreach and discipleship

Please continue to send any announcements to no later than Wednesday evenings to be printed in the bulletin.

We Pray For

Heavenly Father, nourish us with your word of Life and make us one with you in Love and Prayer. May we know your peace and love, removing distractions that take our gaze away from your glory. May we quiet the noise that pulls us from adoration from you and may we see your goodness and glory. We pray for those in need, especially for Cathy Kay, Dorothy Clow, Heather Ford, Louise Weeks, David MacIntyre, Eddy Dykerman,Wendell Nicholson, Gwen Henry, Aneila River- Watts, Irwin Campbell and Elwin Corbett. May the words of our mouths and the actions of our hands all bring Glory, Honour and Praise unto Christ. Amen

The Joint Session met on Tuesday evening at Brookfield to consider the report from the Renewal Team meetings held in July. Copies of the report were distributed online via SCOOP on Tuesday morning, and are available in hard copy this morning. Session approved all the recommendations given, with a couple of very minor amendments for clarity. Renewal Teams will be meeting in August to address the logistics of moving to regular weekly services, reporting to the Joint Session in September. The report will again be made available to the congregation.  Finally, it was confirmed that Rev Cathy Kay has agreed to provide pulpit supply for the 9:30 services at Brookfield and Hunter River, alternating with Rev Thomas.

 Vacation Bible School

The Surf Shack was busy catching Gods amazing love through the stories of creation.  Moses, Baptism of Jesus, Jesus calming the storm and Breakfast on the beach with Jesus.  We had an opening followed by each age group going to Bible lesson, crafts, science and games.

27 students registered plus at least 8 helpers.  A special thanks to all leaders, helpers and those supplying and helping with snacks.  Great team work and another great year.
